Hannah Stackpole (John, James, Philip, James) was born in Harpswell, Me., 17 Oct. 1778. She married, 12 April 1796, Capt. William Webster, son of William and Jane (Little) Webster, grandson of James and Isable (Armstrong) Webster of Cape Elizabeth, now South Portland, Me. He was born at Cape Elizabeth 30 April 1774 and died in Durham, Me., 1 Oct. 1843. She died in Durham 29 June 1851, having lived on the farm next to that of her father. William Webster was a captain of the militia ordered out for service at Bath, Me., in the War of 1812. Ten children" (139-40).
According to Little, her husband "was a captain of the war of 1812. He became one of the original settlers of Durham, Maine, the number of his lot being 89, and his farm was cleared by him from the unbroken forest; he also engaged in the manufacture of plows; ox yokes; and other implements for the use of farmers. He married Hannah, daughyter of John and Elizabeth (Dunning) Stackpole, sister of his brother Joseph's wife, who died at Durham, June 29, 1851." [2, 3]
