Obituary | Obit. note, 25 Aug. 1878, New Orleans Item, p4 (This is not under the yellow fever deaths, which have their own lists): Cyrus T. Bemiss, 30 years, softening of brain Obituary, New Orleans Daily Democrat, 25 Aug 1878, p8: C.T. BEMISS - We have to be very watchful over our friends now: every morning we must count them to see who is missing. These are war times, and a record has to be kept. Yesterday Cyrus T. Bemiss, one of our ablest lawyers and most respected citizens, was taken away from us by the unknown and all-powerful agency that kills, and his honored remains were followed to the grave by a host of sorrowing friends. A gentlemen in the nicest sense of the term, a good friend, an ornament to the bar, of which he was an eminent member, many friends deplore his loss and sympathize with his bereaved family.
Death | 24 Aug 1878 | New Orleans, Louisiana [2] |
Burial | Girod St. Cemetery, New Orleans, Louisiana [3]
