- Note that the relations here differ slightly from Maria Horner Lansdale's history. I follow Barnes' update, which refers to Maria Horner Lansdale's history as a source.
According to Barnes, this John "was probably the son of Lansdale and Elizabeth Hilton. He d. by May 1738, having m. Elizabeth. John was almost certainly not the husband of Elizabeth Hilton, who was a widow at her death. John died leaving a will dated 12 Dec. 1735, and proved May 1738 at Chester. In his will he left a sum of money to Isaac's children ‘if they come over to Maryland, and bring a just and true certificate of their father's and mother's marriage.'"
John Lansdale of Salford, Lancashire, left a will dated 1736. Mary Lansdale of Salford, spinster, left a will dated 1736. Several "Lonsdale" wills also appear in this volume of records, none from Salford. A number of "Lonsdale" records appear in the Burnley, Church Kirk, and Lonsdale in Lancaster Co. About the "Lonsdale Hundred" see in British History Online.
Aside from these second-hand references, though, I have not seen direct evidence of the connection betwen John and his son Isaac. According to Poutney-Davis, Isaac's parentage is according to family tradition, and he names Leicestershire, not Cheshire, as Isaac's home county. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
