The pension application contains, among other things, a copy of his wedding certificate and affidavits about his service. This note appears in the pension record, dated “Camp Garesché, Murfreesboro, Tenn., March 18th, 1863”: This is to certify that William H.Kimber, Orderly Sergeant of Co. “C,” 15th Penna. Cav., was killed at the Battle of Stone River, Tenn., on the 29th Dec. 1862. He died, possessed only of the clothing on his person at that time, all his other effects having been destroyed on the capture & burning of the Regimental Wagon train by the enemy. A. Vezin, Capt.
