  Notes	There is a brief press clipping I found in the JL Sr. correspondence, in a letter from his brother RH Lansdale dated March 30, 1932, about her winning a speech contest at age 16. She was at Sherwood High School, and was to attend Western Maryland U. in that fall to study to be a teacher. She became a teacher of physical education for years, after graduating from Western Maryland College. In her later years, while mother to Richard Lansdale and Thomas Franklin (and one who died in infancy) and living on the Highland MD dairy farm with Dick Pue, too, she worked in the County Assessors' Office in Ellicott City, MD. She died in 1969, probably March, as a result of injuries from a car accident suffered while starting to drive a lady friend to a school play or church affair.
