- He was born abt. 1654 according to his deposition made in 1730. (Note: if Robert was age 17 in 1676, he is not likely to have fathered a child in 1674 at the age of 15, so we can assume that Robert overstated his age in 1730 by at least five years.)
He married at West River Meeting on 27 Oct. 1697 Artridge Giles, born West River 4 6m (August) 1679, Quaker, daughter of John and Mary Giles.
Will made Nov. 8, 1730; probated 27 Mar. 1731:
"To 3 sons Richard, John and Jacob and their hrs., 570 A., viz. "Collier," "Robert's Luck," "Gordon," and "Beverdam," divided equally. son Richard, dau. Sarah Steward, sons John and Jacob, and dau. Artridge, personalty. wife Artridge, extrx, 1/3 of residue of personal estate, remainder to children. Test: Deborah Balleston, William Fisher, William Fish."

Son Richard was given a heifer by Nathll. Chandler on 12 Aug. 1701.
He was the person who first built and owned Oakland, starting in 1713; the house was remodelled by Thomas John Franklin in 1869.
