Tulane Student's Death. Robert A. Hadden Succumbs to Operation Following Grip.
Robert A. Hadden, one of the most promiment students of Tulane University, died at his residence, No. 1221 Seventh Street, at 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The funeral services wil be held at 10:30 o'clock this morning, Rev. John Williams, of Covington, officiating. Interment will be made in the cemetery corner of Washington Avenue and Prytania Street.
Young Hadden contracted a severe cold about a month ago. This developed into the grip. The disease caused an abscess to form on his brain, and for the prupose of removing it, he was operated on a couple of days ago. Because of his weakened condition the operation proved too much for his constitution.
Hadden was born in Kendall County, Tex., in 1888 being but 22 years of age. He moved with his father and mother to this state, his father being quite a prominent man of Bayou Lacombe. He went to Dixon's Academy at Covington, and graduated from that institution two years ago.
At the beginning of the Tulane term this year he entered the engineering class and took up other studies. He was a member of the Glee Club and the Glendy Burke Literary Society and was "a hale fellow" with all of the students, being of the energetic, progressive and aggressive kind.
He is survived by his father, Robert G. Hadden, his mother, a brother and a sister. |
