  Military Service	He seems to have served in Virginia units during the War? He is called a "Captain" by Griffith. There was a Festus Griffith who was a Captain in Company H of the 8th Regiment, VA infantry; a Festus Griffith, possible the same?, also served as a private in Company A of the 1st VA Cavalry. Capt. Festus Griffith also appears as a prisoner in Camp Lookout in January and March of 1864.  [3]
