  Notes	According to Speare, "Captain Clough married Sarah, daughter of Joseph Decker. He was thirty and she just under twenty. A daughter, Sarah, was two and a half years old when her father went to France and was there about three years during the French Revolution. Madam Clough was a woman of remarkable health and vitality. At forty she said that she did not know the sensation of being tired. . . . Rev. Jonathan Adams mentions three daughters: Sarah D., Elizabeth L. St. Barbs; and Hannah Antoinette, 1798-1864, who married Rev. Jonathan Adams of Woolwich, Maine." [4]
