Obituary | Obituary, News-Star (Monroe, Louisiana), Jan. 19, 2006: MARY CECILIA PITARD Mulhearn Funeral Home - Sterlington Road, Monroe Funeral mass for Mrs. Mary Cecilia Pitard, 88, of El Dorado, AR, will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 21, 2006, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Rev. Sebastian Kallarackal and Rev. Gregory Pilcher will officiate. Interment will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 24, 2006, at St. Vincente No. 1, New Orleans, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Mrs. Pitard went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 15, 2006. She was born May 23, 1917, in Little Rock, AR, and passed away in Monroe, LA, after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Tarleton Philips, Sr.; brother, Philip Tarleton Philips, Jr. and sister, Florence Turner-McCoy. Mary Cecilia was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Pitard received a degree in journalism from Loyola University in New Orleans. She was employed as secretary-treasurer in the family owned business, Philips Auto Supply Co. in El Dorado, AR. She was also the secretary for the El Dorado Golf and Country Club. Mrs. Pitard was a member of The El Dorado Bridge Club, DAR, Quest Club, El Dorado Garden Club and The Spade and Trowel Garden Club. She was a devoted member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in El Dorado. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday, January 20, 2006, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. A vigil wake service will be at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in El Dorado, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School in Monroe, or the charity of your choice. | |
