  Obituary	Obituary, Times-Picayune, 23 May 1942, p2: DEMAREST - At the residence, 2412 Magazine street, on Friday, May 22, 1942, at 3:40 o'clock p.m., Olivia Simons, beloved wife of the late Ernest Demarest, Sr., mother of Mrs. Rosalie Houg, Mrs. E.M. Maliette, Mrs. Sidney Lapayrouze, Mrs. Frank Viola, Jacob Simons, Ernest Jr., and George Dudley Demarest of Macon, Miss., and the late Andrew J. Demarest; also survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; aged 79 years, a resident of New Orleans for 14 years. Relatives and friends of the family, also the Married Ladies' Sodality of St. Alphonsus church, are invited to attend the funeral, which will take place from the Leitz-Eagan funeral home, 2512 Magazine street, between Second and Third streets, on Saturday afternoon, May 23, 1942, at 3:45 o'clock. Religious services at St. Alpnonsus church. Interment in Lafayette No. 1 cemtery, Washington avenue and Prytania street.
