GUNCKEL - On Friday evening, July 22, 1966, Blanche Brown, beloved wife of Garland Gunckel; daughter of J.E. Brown and Ola Gill; sister of Mrs. Merle Marcotte, Otho and Lemuel Brown; aged 32 years; a native of Tylertown, Miss., and a resident of this city for 13 years.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral. Services from McMahon-Coburn-Bride Funeral Home, 600 Moss street, where Bayou St. John starts, on Sunday morning, July 24, 1966, at 10 o'clock. Remains will be forwarded via auto hearse to McKneely Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, La., for religious services and interment.

"Traffic Victim's Rites Conducted"
Funeral Services for Mrs. Blanche Brown Gunkel [sic], 32, 1028 Lillian, Metairie, fatally injured Friday night in a Jefferson Parish traffic accident, were conducted Sunday morning from the McMahon-Coburn-Briede Funeral Home, 600 Moss, followed by burial in Ponchatoula, La.
Mrs. Gunckel, wife of Garland Gunckel, was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at Ochsner Foundation Hospital following the accident on Airline Hwy. near Turnbull, state police said. Troop B officers said the woman was struck by a truck [ . . . ].
Besides her husband, Mrs. Gunkel's survivors include her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. J.E. Brown [ . . . ]. |
