- On 3 Dec. 1908 Antonino, from Trabia, Palermo, immigrated on the Carpathia; he said he has been in “Pittsburg” before, from 1905-08. He was going to 7808 Tioga St. to see his brother Vincenzo Taormina. He was traveling with his brothers Salvatore and Filippo. He's 15 years old.
The 1927 immigration record to Nova Scotia must be him as well, since he names his father in Brookville.
Possibly he is the Antonino Taormina who lived in Monaca, Beaver Co., PA. That Antonino signed a WW2 draft card saying he was born in Trabia in 1896. His wife was Francesca—Frances on the 1930 census, with children Rose, Mary, Antonette, and Philip. The dates don’t match well, however.
On findagrave is this: Antony Taormina, b. 7 Jan 1893, d. 30 Apr. 1970, m. Lucia, b. 26 Feb. 1898, d 19 May 1967. Buried in Hillsborough Co., Florida. There are many Taorminas buried in this county. This family appears on the 1920, 1930, and 1940 census, but according to the 1930 census, he immigrated in 1915, so this probably isn't him. [2, 3]
