- Into this family married the Hansons, who served in the Continental Congress and the Revolution.
According to MacKenzie, he was "baptized 22d Apr. 1693, but apparently b. in 1691 (as he was 17 in 1708, when he made a deposition regarding his uncle's will); d. 24th Dec. 1740; came to Maryland when quite a young man and joined his uncle, whose will provided liberally for him. He was a prosperous merchant at Nottingham, Prince George's Co., Clerk of the Court; and from 1720 to 1724, member of the Lower House of the General Assembly. He m. about 1720, Jane BROOKE, dau. of Col. Thomas and Ann (DENT) BROOKE." [3]
