  Notes	She died after a horrific crime; fearing that her daughter Blanche would be taken to an insane asylum, she shot Blanche and then herself rather than have her daughter taken away. Her daughter was only superficially wounded, and was removed to an asylum, but she died 38 days later from the wound and after refusing food. A series of articles appeared in New Orleans papers during July and August 1919 about the incident.
