Anonime Pitard

Notes:

A Pierre Pitard married Périnne Drouadanne (daughter of Jean) on 25 Jul 1758 in Corps-Nuds. I connect that marriage to this Pierre: though the marriage record is not clear on Pierre’s parents, it’s a logical conclusion. Here is the logic:

1) no parents are named on the marriage record; presumably this is because both were deceased on 1758, and that fits this Pierre.

2) He’s a minor, which required a judge’s approval since his parents were deceased. He was 23 at the time, but the age of consent had to be 25.

3) Guillaume François Pitard, his half-brother (son of Bon’s first wife) was a witness to the marriage.

4) There aren’t that many Pierre Pitards to choose from in Corps-Nuds, and the marriage record says that the husband and wife are both from Corps-Nuds.

Bon Pitard was married three times: F. Geligault (1726), F. Roault (1734), and F. Gendrot (1749).

He signed a probate document in 1754 in Chanteloup.

PItard, Bon, (Me) and Rouault, Françoise (Children: Renée born 16 Sept. 1736 (married Julian Lemoux, from whom came Juliana born 4 Apr. 1780, and died childless; Louis born 16 May 1743, who inherited [?--he was the oldest son], brother of Guillaume François emancipated as part of 23 Nov 1768 in 4B 1617 (1 page); Pierre; François (who married Gabrielle Gastel)), Corps Nuds, ML [?] 7 Feb 1785, 4B 1616.

I don't understand who Guillaume François is here, or what document happened on 23 Nov. 1768.

Teillé is in the Diocese of Nantes. His wedding record to Anne Marie Macquiau says that he was from Mouzeil, a village just a few km. to the west of Teillé.

Records are lacking in Mouzeil before 1668, and his birth record is not apparent after this. Presumably, then, he was born before this date.

He was styled “sieur de la Clause”; “sieur” is a bourgeois title that indicates that he owned some property.

Pierre married Anne Marie Macquiau on 13 Jan 1700 in Teillé, Loire-Atlantique, Pays de la Loire, France. Anne (daughter of Guillaume Macquiau and Jeanne Bruslé) was born about 1659; died on 9 Apr 1717 in Teillé, Loire-Atlantique, Pays de la Loire, France. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

The marriage record to her first husband shows her parents’ names, but her birth place and date are not evident. She seem not have been born in Teillé, as no records for any Macquiau appear in Teillé in the years around the estimated time of her birth.

Age at death “cinquente et huit ans,” 58 years: “âgée de 58 ans ou environ, femme de Joseph BLANCHET de son dernier mariage. Witnesses at her death: Her son Julien PIAU; her husband (Joseph BLANCHET); her brother Olivier MACQUIAU.

There is a part of Teillé called “Le Bois Macquiau.”

His name “Pierre Pitard” appears on his son Pierre’s marriage record. His parentage is obscure because there are a number of Pierre Pitards in the area:

—Pierre Pitard, b. in Ligné abt. 1630, m. Jeanne Lerat in 1652 in Petit Mars
—Pierre Pitard, m. Julienne Leduc in 1646 in Mouzeil
—Pierre Pitard husband of Janne Amiot, whose son François was married in 1640 in Ligné
—Pierre Pitard who was baptized in Mouzeil on 19 June 1633, the son of Pierre Pitard and Julienne Menoret, who had been married in Mouzeil in abt. 1612. On their marriage record he is described as “paroissien de Ligné,” and she as “paroissienne de Mouzeil.” This couple had four other children who appear in the Mouzeil parish records.

But aside from the names, there is no evidentiary connection to securely identify any of this Pierres with this one.

And these are just those I know on the north side of the Loire. Other Pitard families appear south of the river, esp. in Corsept, to the east.

One document that would help is the marriage record between Pierre Pitard and Prégente Denis. She seems not to be from Mouzeil, however, and there’s no indication of her origin that might tell of the town in which they were married (marriages usually taking place in the bride’s home parish).

Her name is found on her son Pierre’s marriage record, and on the baptismal record of her grandson and godson Pierre via her son Jean.

I can find no record of a marriage from before 1670 (her first son was born in 1668). A “Pregente Denis” was born in Illifaut, Côtes-d'Armor, in Oct. of 1653. Maybe, but the odds are against this being her: Côtes-d'Armor is quite a ways a way; and, since Pierre fils was likely born bef. 1668, there would be a very short window of just a year or so, maybe, for a marriage.
