This couple had 9 children. He was living in AA Co. bef. 1700. His descendants founded both Hyattstown and Hyattsville in Maryland. He is named as the immigrant ancestor by Welsh.

Charles married Sarah Tewksbury in 1692. Sarah was born about 1672 in St. James Parish Church, Lothian, Anne Arundel Co., Maryland. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Does anyone know anything of her ancestry? The Welsh/Hyatt History gives this as her last name, but also says that it is only probable.

Her father apparently used the name "Tuckbury." Welsh quotes a rent roll: "Mavorn Hills, 50 acres, was surveyed 3.12.1678, for Wm. Tuckbury, in the woods westward of the land called Jerico. Poss., Chs. Hyatt of P.G. Co." (101). “William Teuckesbury” appears in Skordas, transported in 1672.

So, Hyatt was renting some of Tuckbury's land. Later, on 30 July 1722, he was granted a patent of 300 acres in P.G. County on land he named "Tewksbury."
