PITARD - Of 202 South Pierce street, on Wednesday, March 6, 1946, at 1:30 o'clock a.m, Daniel Maupay Pitard, beloved husband of Barsilla Bemis [sic], son of the late Cecile Maupay and Gustave J. Pitard, aged 76 years; a native of New Orleans, La.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 6, 1946, at 4 o'clock p.m., from the auxiliary funeral home of Jacob Schoen and Son, 3827 Canal street, at North Scott street. Religious services at Sacred Heart of Jesus church.
Interment in Metairie Cemetery.

J.B.A. Ahrens on the 24 day of March 1888 between Daniel M Pitard (22 years), a native of New Orleans, La son of Gustave Pitard and Cecilia Maupay, and Miss Barsilla B. Bemiss (17 years) native of New Orleans, La daughter of Cyrus T. Bemiss and Lambella Dormin. The marriage was performed in the presence of the witnesses Mrs. Belle Bemiss, Mrs. M.J. Blessing, David Bradford. The License was issued on the 23 day of March 1888. . . "

The one name on this which is not on the site is Anna Mishe. She was not a blood relation, but had been taken in by the family way back and lived with them for years. She appears in Gustave Pitard Sr.'s household on the 1880 census as a servant, "Anita Mish," next to her son [presumably her son] Fernand.
